Meet Dr. Nicholas Long

Get to Know Dr. Nicholas Long

Originally from Oklahoma City, Dr. Nicholas Long earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Oklahoma. Since entering private practice, he has remained committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care while continually expanding his clinical skills and expertise.

During dental school, Dr. Long served as an academic tutor in multiple disciplines, including Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Operative Dentistry. His dedication to serving others extended beyond the classroom through volunteer work with organizations such as His Hands Dental Clinic in Cedar Rapids and the Iowa Mission of Mercy. His passion for caring for vulnerable populations earned him the Clinically Merit-Based Award for Most Outstanding Clinician in Geriatric and Special Needs Care at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Long has a particular passion for prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistry and enjoys helping patients restore both the function and appearance of their smiles. He believes that comprehensive treatment planning, attention to detail, and building lasting relationships with patients are the foundation of exceptional dental care.

In recognition of his leadership and academic excellence, Dr. Long received the Emerging Leadership Award, the Glen M. & Henrietta Krogh Academic Award, and multiple academic scholarships. His research on the human oral microbiome was submitted for publication in the Journal of the American Dental Association.
