Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dr. Nicholas Long earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he also served as an academic tutor in multiple disciplines including Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Operative Dentistry. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Oklahoma.
Throughout his dental education, Dr. Long demonstrated a strong commitment to service, offering complimentary dental care through organizations such as His Hands Dental Clinic in Cedar Rapids and the Iowa Mission of Mercy. His passion for patient-centered care, especially for vulnerable populations, earned Dr. Long the Clinically Merit-Based Award for Most Outstanding Student Clinician in Geriatric and Special Needs Care at the University of Iowa.
In recognition of his leadership and academic excellence, Dr. Long was honored with the Emerging Leadership Award, the Glen M. & Henrietta Krogh Academic Award, and multiple academic scholarships. His research on the human oral microbiome has been submitted for publication in the Journal of the American Dental Association.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Long enjoys spending time with his wife, Nelly, to whom he has been happily married since 2019.
